"Nabisco Shredded Wheat presents Straight Arrow, a thrilling new adventure story from the exciting days of the Old West!"  That's how the radio show opened twice a week.

"Straight Arrow was a Western designed for kids. The show was broadcast between 1948 and 1951. Howard Culver played Steve Adams in the series. Steve was a ranch owner who really was a Comanche Indian named "Straight Arrow". He wore his Indian garb and rode a palomino horse named "Fury" while he fought outlaws."

This Straight Arrow board game was manufactured by Selchow & Righter co. in 1950. Included in the painting is a spinner from the game, a wooden Tomahawk and a feathered headdress.

Newsletter July 2010

Summer in the Sacramento Mountains lasts for about 30 day. We call it Summer, other folks call it June. The Monsoon season has started, cool weather and rain have returned. For those of you wanting to escape the heat of OK, TX or AZ think about coming to our New Mexico mountains

American Indian
Amulets and Talisman

This month I'm concentrating on a new series of small 8 x 10 oil paintings using amulets and talismans as my subject matter. Each piece is researched for historical accuracy and I provide the story behind each painting which can be seen on my blog.
I have completed 2 paintings and as each is finished they are posted on My Blog

I find the history of these small pieces very interesting and I hope you do too.

Cowboys and Indians magazine - Dec 2009

I'm a bit late in announcing this but better late than never. 

I hope you got the chance to see the Dec issue of Cowboys and Indians magazine. They had a nice article about me on page 74.

It wasn't exactly accurate. I have NOT gotten bored with painting American Indians and I continue painting them.
