Rain Bird - American Indian

Rain Bird, 48 x 24, oil on linen

This Plains Indian wears a feathered headdress with bells. His face is painted white with red stripes.

The shield he holds has red trade cloth and has an image of a Rain Bird. Some mythology tells the story of a large bird gathering the clouds with its wings and bringing much needed rain.

This painting is on its way to Heritage Gallery in Scottsdale along with 5 other paintings.
